My Journey to Motherhood: A Story of Faith, Love & New Beginnings
Welcome to My Blog!
Hi, and welcome! I’m beyond excited to share my journey with you, especially if you're a new mom or navigating motherhood in a unique way.
Becoming a single mom by choice through IVF at 41 has been a long, winding, and beautiful road. With a little help from science—and a lot of love and faith—I now have my precious daughter, Emma Rose, who has completely changed my life.
Here’s a little bit about my journey, the challenges I faced, and how I embraced the unexpected turns that led me to this amazing new chapter.
✨ The Decision to Become a Mom

Choosing to become a mom on my own was a big decision that took years to make. I spent a long time wondering:
🔸 "Can I do this alone?"
🔸 "Is it the right time?"
🔸 "What if it doesn’t work?"
But the thought of motherhood never left my heart. I didn’t want to wait any longer, so I chose IVF with a sperm donor.
💡 Every step felt like an affirmation of my dream to have a child. Even though the road wasn’t easy, I could see Emma’s face in my mind before she even arrived, and I knew I was ready to meet her.

🤰 Pregnancy: A Rollercoaster of Challenges

Early on, I was diagnosed with a subchorionic hematoma, which increased the risk of bleeding. Later, I developed placenta previa, where the placenta covered the cervix.
🚨 Because of these complications, I spent most of my pregnancy on bed rest.
💭 It was frustrating, but I found peace in an unexpected way—crocheting.
What started as a way to pass the time soon blossomed into a crochet business that I love! Those months allowed me to create pieces I’m proud of, including some special ones for Emma.

👶 A Birth Story Full of Twists & Turns

At 39 weeks, I went to the hospital ready to be induced—but life had another twist in store for me!
💡 The nurse told me that Emma was in a transverse position (lying sideways), making a vaginal birth impossible. Instead, I had a C-section later that day.
The moment they lifted her up, I saw her sweet face and heard the strongest cry. All my fears and challenges faded away as I held her for the first time.

🌷 Motherhood: The Most Beautiful Journey

Now, as I sit here writing with Emma Rose by my side, I feel grateful for every twist and turn that brought us together.
💡 I may not have taken the traditional path, but my journey feels perfectly my own. Emma has filled my life with more joy and purpose than I could ever have imagined.

Every day, I remind myself to:
✔️ Be patient
✔️ Be flexible
✔️ Keep faith in the journey
